Pisteuo proudly presents to you the national top women golfer – Kelly Tan! We will be sponsoring her as she journeys through the LPGA tours.
Tan started her first golfing session at the tender age of 12 in Batu Pahat, Johor under her father’s guide. Witnessing a hidden talent in her, Tan’s father then decided to hire a professional teacher. From there on, Tan slowly competed in different amateur competitions and by the time she was 14, the Malaysian Ladies Golf Association had recruited her to train with the national team. To be able to play on LPGA Tour was Tan’s dream. She practised hard everyday, after school and during holidays. At one point, she even dropped out of school to pursue her passion in golf. In the end, she managed to finish her education and graduated from IMG Academy, world’s most prestigious sports, performance and educational institution in Florida, US.
She was a rising star in the world of professional ladies golf but the journey was not all roses. Financial difficulties were one of them. In 2017, one of her major sponsors discontinued its sponsorship and in the same year, she lost her full LPGA status. This put her in a precarious situation where she admitted she had thought about quitting after the huge setback.
However, her tenacity and passion kept her going, along with the support of her beloved family. In 2019, she regained her LPGA status and even managed to outdone herself in 2020 despite the ongoing pandemic. This tenacity is what Pisteuo admires and decided to join her on her journey to winning the LPGA. Here in Pisteuo, we always admired this principle – To keep moving forward, despite being struck down. When we started our own journey, we only had businesses and advisors amounting to the fingers on our hand. Only after the arduous years did we manage to push ahead and come out on top in the world of estate planning. Similarly, we were happy to see Tan’s growth and her desire to ascend to the top. With the value of trust, we want to be as much as a team to her as we do to ours. Golf may be a single player game, but behind every player there is a team supporting them. ‘United we stand’ is what held us together in Pisteuo as a team, and we hope we can do the same to Tan.
